PROGRAM

Below is a Draft of the program. Please let me know if your child is missing or in the wrong section. Click the program box below.

About the Event

The Scholarship Event is an internal studio showcase that gives students the opportunity to:

  • Perform a solo routine in front of an adjudicator and audience

  • Build stage confidence and personal growth

  • Celebrate performance in a fun, supportive environment

For newer students, please don’t be intimidated! This is a positive, encouraging event where every child is celebrated for their effort, not just their results. Tiny Tots and nervous students are even welcome to have a friend or helper with them on stage.

How It Works

  • Each class has learned a short 1-minute routine which students will perform individually.

  • Students are adjudicated by the wonderful Tracey Hartin-Smith, who taught both Ally and Mel and truly understands the spirit of the event.

  • Every student receives a written feedback report, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from each class are crowned with tiaras.

  • We also award Overall Age Group trophies, and crown a Studio Overall Winner, who will receive 12 months of free private lessons (valued at $1,400!).

What to Wear

  • Dance/Acro students: Any black class attire (e.g., shorts, leggings, leotards, crop tops, singlets)

  • Ballet students: Black leotard, pink ballet tights, ballet shoes, and hair in a bun
(You can find dancewear at Kmart and local stores.)

Extra Opportunities to Perform

We also offer two optional sections for students who want to explore their creativity:

1. Student Choreography

  • Students can create their own solo, duo, or trio in any style

  • Costumes can be self-created

  • Music should be under 2.5 minutes (we’re happy to help with editing!)

2. Improvisation

  • Music is randomly selected by the adjudicator

  • Students improvise together on stage – you can't make a mistake!

  • Each performer wears a number for judging

These optional sections are free to enter.
